Seismic Joints in New Zealand

Seismic joints, also called expansion joints, allow large multidirectional movements of structures to avoid collisions and ensure the durability of the structures. Seismic joints can handle larger movements caused by other factors, apart from normal cyclic temperature related, shrinking and expanding of structures. Normally, this is dynamic loads cause from ground settlement or seismic events (earthquakes).

How do Jointmaster Seismic joints work for buildings?

Buildings require seismic joints when one building is built adjacent to another, whether or not the buildings are linked functionally. Seismic joints are also frequently introduced to separate wings, or other parts of a single building.

Interior Components are Inpro Jointmaster representatives for NZ, we offer the JointMaster® range of seismic expansion joints. All our products are approved to meet or exceed New Zealand standards.
